Brattle Square Florist boasts perhaps the highest sales per square foot of any flower retailer in America. The pending retirement of the 2nd generation owner created an opportunity for new stewardship.

One of the most beautiful stores in Harvard Square, on a cold winter day Brattle Square Florist is a sort of oasis. Yet, on warm sunny days, the storefront opens out and the merchandise beautifies the entire block. Brattle Square Florist and its General Manager, Stephen Zedros, were mentioned by Cambridge author Vanessa Diffenbaugh in her 2011 bestseller The Language of Flowers.

Somerville resident Randy Ricker, who has shopped at Brattle Square Florist for many years, took ownership of the store on January 1st. Mr. Ricker has pledged not to lose the store's unique look and feel while simultaneously modernizing operations and expanding the reach of BSF's expert advice regarding flowers and live plants.
